Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) is a deadly disease spread by mosquitos which carry the disease.
The following town had EEE positive mosquito samples from a mammal biting species: Brimfield. Based on these findings, the following cities and towns have been moved to high EEE risk level: Brimfield, Sturbridge and Holland. Based on these findings, the following town has been moved to moderate EEE risk level: Wales. High risk cities and towns are advised to consider cancelling or rescheduling outdoor activities between dusk and dawn. Additional recommended public health measures include raising awareness among residents, reminding residents to use mosquito repellents with an EPA-registered active ingredient and observing peak mosquito activity at dusk and dawn.
