Board of Registrars

The Hardwick Board of Registrars is seeking an individual to fill a vacant position on the Board of Registrars. The following is the minimum criteria to apply for the position:

  • The individual shall be a registered voter and have been enrolled in the DEMOCRATIC PARTY for a minimum of the last two years
  • Shall not hold another appointed or elected position in the Town of Hardwick
  • Possess good communication skills to work with the publi
  • Possess filing skills, attention to detail, ability to follow direction and have general computer skills
  • Flexibility to work daytime and minimal evening hours at certain political timeframes during the year that are dictated by Massachusetts General Law.
  • This position is on an as needed basis.
  • Attend Board of Registrar meetings on an as needed basis.

Hours worked are on an "as needed" basis. This position is paid on an hourly basis.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

The Town of Hardwick, MA is seeking qualified candidates for the  position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. This Operator will participate in the operation of all plant treatment processes. Responsibilities include operating pumps, motors, blowers, chemical feed systems, preventative and corrective maintenance and performing basic laboratory analysis, sample collection and process control for an extended aeration and SBR facility. The Operator works under the general direction of the Superintendent of Wastewater Pollution Control.  Requirements: high school diploma or equivalent, a valid MA driver’s license, a valid MA grade 4C Wastewater Operators license or the ability to secure this license in 6 months. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; read operations manuals and good verbal skills. Experience with the operation and maintenance of extended aeration and SBR treatment processes a plus. Highway Department, Highway Working Forman

The Hardwick Board of Selectmen is seeking qualified applicants to fill the full-time Highway Working Forman position for the Hardwick Highway Department. The purpose of this position is to provide direct in-field supervision of employees working on all phases of Highway Department construction, maintenance, repair operations and performs all other related work as required. Repairing heavy equipment and large trucks is essential to the position. The Highway Working Foreman is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control.

Applicants must have a minimum of (5) years experience in highway/roadway maintenance and construction, including heavy equipment operation and field supervision. Applicants must possess a valid C.D.L. Class B License with airbrake endorsement (C.D.L. Class A License is preferred) and a valid Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License Class 2A.

PART-TIME LABORER RECYCLING CENTER

The Hardwick Board of Selectmen is seeking qualified applicants to fill a part-time laborer position at the Recycling Center. The salary for this position is $11.00 per hour.
